The Eternal Abyss Main Area Guide

Orient yourself in The Eternal Abyss's root place, find the difficulty chart and branch portals, choose a first tower, and account for the current community roster snapshot.

The Main Area is the root place of The Eternal Abyss: Place 15873244701 inside Universe 5488708927. It is where players join and where the current lobby connects the game’s tower selection with Pit of Misery, Timeless Manor, and Starry Night. The official identity is stable; exact portal positions, tower totals, and difficulty values come from a changing community snapshot and must be confirmed in the live server.

Orient yourself after spawning

Before entering a portal, identify four landmarks: the current difficulty chart, a clearly labeled tower portal, the branch-area portals, and the route back to spawn. The maintained community page describes a large swamp or barren-forest lobby connected by bridges, with buildings, water, a massive tree, and tower portals distributed across color-coded parts of the area.

The community snapshot says easier towers sit nearer greener front sections while Unreal projects are deeper in a purple forest section. Use that only as orientation. A lobby revamp occurred in October 2025, and later additions changed the roster, so an old screenshot may not match your server.

Choose your first main-area tower

Tower of Naive Facades is the documented Easy-rated exception and the clearest place to learn how TEA presents portals, floor progression, and warnings. It also has a Scary warning and an abrupt horror-theme transition, so read the ToNF guide before entering if you are sensitive to sudden effects.

Do not choose the next visible portal merely because it is nearby. Most of The Eternal Abyss focuses on Soul-Crushing difficulty. Read the live chart, compare your current hardest clear, and use Easiest Towers before attempting an Insane project.

Read the current roster cautiously

The maintained community page captured on May 22, 2026 listed two Steeples, forty-two Towers with one upcoming, two Citadels, and one Mini Tower. Another community overview showed an older lower count. That disagreement is a reminder that roster totals are snapshots, not permanent facts.

Use a tower name and current portal rather than a count when planning. The Tower List gives a smaller documented set with dates and confidence. The official badge API contains many names but cannot prove which ones have active Main Area portals today.

Find the branch-area routes

The official experience description names Pit of Misery, Timeless Manor, and Starry Night as branching areas. Community documentation currently describes their portals around the main lobby, but exact directions are vulnerable to redesigns. Start from the chart or another unmistakable landmark, read portal labels, and avoid unlabeled or boarded entrances.

For Timeless Manor, the community page currently directs players toward a dock near spawn and describes three portals, with the manor portal on the right. Confirm that layout live before relying on “right,” since direction changes when the starting viewpoint changes.

Pit of Misery access reports disagree about completion requirements and the location near older event portals. Do not publish or memorize a number from one comment. Follow the Pit of Misery guide and read the current gate text.

Use the difficulty chart correctly

The chart is a selection tool, not an objective prediction of your experience. Exact ratings are community-maintained and can move. Warnings such as Punishing, Inconsistent, Loopfaily, Jank, Traps, and Scary explain risks that a number cannot.

In Personal Servers, the official pass description says chart labels can teleport the owner to towers. In a normal public server, expect to navigate by the current lobby unless the live game offers another route. Do not buy the pass only from an old video; verify the price and description at checkout.

Prepare before a hard portal

Open Practice Mode and confirm its current availability. Scout the first segment, identify the first safe stopping point, and check whether the tower needs a movement technique you have not trained. The official game description warns that lost progress is expected, so preparation is part of the intended experience.

For long projects, check server and connection stability before entering. For scary or sound-dependent towers, adjust settings first rather than after reaching a dangerous floor. For an optional museum or side route, practice the return path before including it in a legitimate attempt.

Main Area FAQ

Is the Main Area a separate branch?

No. It is the root place where players join. The other three covered areas branch from it.

How many towers are in the Main Area?

The May 22 community snapshot listed forty-two Towers plus other types, but counts have differed across snapshots. Confirm the live chart rather than treating that total as permanent.

Is there a beginner tower here?

Tower of Naive Facades is documented as Peak Easy and the area’s only non-Soul-Crushing tower. It still carries a Scary warning.
